Key elements to this work of art are as follows: Atlanta skyline #858A
Lake Clara Meer
Atlanta pen & ink drawing of midtown skyscrapers in Piedmont Park. This pen & ink drawing of the Atlanta, Georgia, skyline is from Lake Clara Meer in Piedmont Park. The time is almost noon, and the sky is clear and bright making for excellent daylight to draw this wonderful image. Lake Clara Meer is a small lake in Piedmont Park very close to the botanical gardens. This area is very popular with local residents and tourists alike.
Imagery
The drawing takes in the reflection of the skyscrapers that make the backdrop of the scene and makes nice imagery. I have chosen to do both horizontal and vertical lines in the water to reflect the shadow of the trees, but when it comes to the skyscrapers their reflection is used only with moving horizontal lines so as to indicate the motion of the water.
Color Atlanta skyline #858A
The color is the ink is brown not red is in drawing 857 and the detailing here is looser and less tedious than the former drawing. The success of the work of art is the even balance of shade and shadow that has been keep throughout and especially with the skyscrapers.
