This cityscape drawing is a pleasure to talk about here because it contains aesthetic values. This cityscape drawing shows midtown Atlanta in Piedmont Park at Lake Clar Meer because you can see the water on the lake.

Key elements to this work of art are as follows:
Piedmont Park & Lake Clara Meer
In this wonderful red pen & ink watercolor of the Midtown Atlanta, Georgia, skyline and Piedmont Park,
Skyline
I have striven to bring out the rich tones from the setting sun. Since this is dusk the light is muted and the images of the skyline are more and more like stone figures than skyscrapers. The purpose here is to take the images and melt them together so as to get the full impact of what the evening light can do to the images.
Skyscrapers
The first thing that you will note is that area dead center in the drawing is the darkest point. This was intended so as to be the focal point from with to radiate from. The strength of the drawing lays in the trees and their reflection on the water.
Trees
I have made a point not to include the images of the skyscrapers since it is too dark at this time of day to make out any image in the water. Also, the sun is of course setting at an angel that is blocked by trees further diminishing the light needed to show images in the water. Atlanta skyline #866A is a rendering in midtown because it is showing Piedmont Park.
Landscape
The red ink really works well to bring out the landscape and water. It really suits the buildings well in this drawing for you can leave behind all the details that you see during the day and focus on the feel that is offered to us at this time of day. All in all this is a very special and quiet moment in Atlanta.
