Nosferatu

Vampire

Nosfertatu is an early German silent film loosely based on the story of Dracula, because he is a vampire. The wife of Bram Stoker sued F. W. Murnau, because he has stolen the story. Mr. Murnau lost the case, and therefore had to destroy the film. All the images that we have are based on copies, because the original were destroyed.

Pen & Ink Drawing Of Nosferatu #422Z

Above is my pen & ink drawing of a late part of the movie, because this is the climax. In a few moments Nosferatu will die, because the sun will rise and destroy him. The image of Nosferatu is one of the most famous of all horror films, because it captures terror. Terror is very difficult to prolong, because it gives into gore. This image of the vampire is haunting, because he is over his victim. The life of a vampire is based on your blood, because they have none.

Zombie #421Z

Ghoul

A zombie is the animated corps of a dead man, because it has no life. Most often the zombie is shown eating flesh, because hi is hungry. However, zombies do not have to eat, because they cannot digest food. It is a myth that a zombie has life, because there is no blood in him. The dark is when the zombie come out, because they hate the light. Zombies are creatures of the night, because they are vampires.

Pen & Ink Drawing Of Zombie #421Z

Above is my pen & ink drawing of a zombie crawling at you, because he wants you. You are the victim, because he his eyes fixed on you. You will die, because the zombie will get you. When you are bitten by the zombie you will be his, because you have his blood in you. I have made an attempt here to bring out the creepy, and gruesome, because it adds suspense to the art.

Gort

Robot

Gort is a robot from the Science Fiction motion picture classic, The Day The Earth Stood Still. This large eight foot giant was the companion of Klaatu, the pilot of the flying saucer from outer space. The most famous line in all Science Fiction motion picture is from the film:

Gort, Klaatu, barada nikto.

This phrase is echoed again in the 2008 remake of the movie, with was a great success. At it’s debut it was ranked as one of the highest grossing film of the year. Because the special effects were good, many people came to see the movie. The storyline of the new movie, match the one of the old one. The special effects were outstanding, because it all made Gort look real.

Pen & Ink Drawing Of Gort

Above is my pen & ink drawing taken from a search on the Internet. I have always enjoyed this classic film, because of Gort, and the flying saucer. Gort never says a word during the film, but his glass eye does all of it. The design of Gort is very spartan, because there are no elements to it. Robby the robot has a lot of elements, to keep the viewer amazed. However, Gort, and Robby were great at their time, and they are great today!

The Krell Door

Krell Laboratory Entry

The Krell Door is the access point to the Krell Laboratory, found on the planet Altair IV. This was the scene for the famous Science Fiction motion picture, the Forbidden Planet. The pentagon proportions of the door are flawless, for all the angles complement the design. Further, there are four panels that open simultaneously as the door opens, this is a security measure. Thus, you have four thick panels of pure Krell Metal to break through, a daunting task!

Pen & Ink Drawing OF The Krell Door #419Z

Above is my pen & ink drawing of the famous Krell Door, which is made of pure Krell Metal. The metal is unique, in that it literally absorbs energy, so when you shoot it with a ray gun, rather than melt, it gains straight from the blast. This is the place that the final scene of the movie takes place, because the Monsters of the ID melt down the door, and enter the Krell Laboratory.

Robby The Robot

Robot

Robby the Robot was the creation, and co-star of the Science Fiction classic, The Forbidden Planet, created in 1956. This masterpiece of modern engineering design was done by MGM Studios. This is the first robot in history to have a personality, which made it a star of the film. He was a proper Englishman in every way, even to the new stranger to Alter IV. The planet Altair IV was home to Dr. Morbius, and his daughter, because their landing parting was killed by the Monsters of the ID. Because of the outstanding special effects, the film became famous. Robby is best remembered for alerting Dr. Morbius as the Monsters of the ID approached the house. When the monster breached the house, Dr. Morbius and his companions went to the Krell Lab. Robby could not get to the lab in time, because he was too slow.

Pen & Ink Drawing OF Robby The Robot #418Z

Above is a pen & ink drawing that I did, using a fine point stylus. I took the image from a photograph on the Internet, searching for Robby the Robot. Because the Internet is so vast and deep, I quick received the images. When I was a child the Forbidden Planet was my favorite movie, and still is. For this is the motion picture that gave to the world the fabulous Krell Laboratory, with access only through the impenetrable Krell Door. Robby was the right hand man of Dr. Morbius, day and night. Robby could make diamonds, and emeralds easily. The one thing that Robby could not do was kill people, because Dr. Morbius put that command in his software.

Monster

Creature from the Black Lagoon was one of my favorite monsters as a child, because of his awesome appearance. When I grew up in the 50’s you could not see movies on demand, because there was no Internet. In those days we had to wait until the movies were old, because they ran them as re-runs on TV. The creature was scary, because he was realistic. When I was 10 years old I bought a model of the creature and painted it, because I like the image. I would keep it statue in my collection of monster, so they were all organized together.

Lagoon

The lagoon was a good place to make his home, because it was dark, and remote. The Black Lagoon was located deep in the jungles of the Amazon. When it was dark, the creature would come on the boat, because no one could see him. However, when he was caught, he would jump into the water, and swim away. Because of my monster model collection, I had the scariest room in the neighborhood.

Movie

Now with the advent of the Internet, I can watch the Creature from the Black Lagoon on my computer. The Computer makes it easy to find horror movies, because you can search on YouTube. I am able to make drawings of the Creature, because I can look up his picture on the Internet. The pen & ink drawing that I have made here is from the Internet.

Facebook Founder As Business Executive

Mark Zuckerberg has risen to fame as the founder of Facebook. A graduate of Harvard University, Mark Zuckerberg taken his college days concept and made it a world wide phenomena. But now everyone is on Facebook and learning more about the world, friends, and family. Facebook uses images and text to share information about news, people, and event all over the world. Because he is one of the richest men in the world many people want his advise.

Because today, in the news, Mr. Zuckerberg announced that if Elizabeth Warren were to become the President of the United States that he would sue the Federal Government. Since the advent of Elizabeth Warren in the recent Presidential polls all eyes are on her, especially the business community and Wall Street. For she has stated that she wants to break up the big companies. Because Mark Zuckerberg has said that the size of our company is good and does not want the government to get involved. He pointed to the efficientcy of Facebook vs. Twitter, his closest rival.

TarnHelm

Der Ring Des Nibelungen

In the legend of the Nibelungen Lieder, Mime fashions the TarnHelm out of the gold that Albrecht has stolen from the Rheinmadens. The image of the tarnhelm that I have chosen stems from one of my favorite record covers of Die Walkure This image on the cover show the brass helmet with wings fashioned on each side elegantly lifting upwards. It rests on a table with fire in the background denoting the Magic Fire Music which closes the music drama of the opera.

Since the age of 14, when I purchased my first recording of Richard Wager highlights for General Music Store on 71st Street in South Shore. The moment that I heard the music of Tannhauser I was hooked for life, and I am still there. There is so much that I can say about the music of Richard Wagner, as so many have done. However, I would like to say for me, that the music of Wagner, more than any other composer hits home to my very soul. There is nothing that speaks to me more deeply than the music of Richard Wagner.

Pencil Rendering For Male Figure Drawing #311Z

  • Clinker Stylus Sketch

The pencil drawing here starts out like all of my drawings as a quick sketch, because he was moving. When the sketch is done, I will make a scan of it. I like to compliment the detailing with shade and shadows, and contour lines. Because my task in the drawing was to capture the image and delineate the key forms of the young man.

Realism

I have no interest in doing a “realistic” drawing, because they are boring. I would rather express myself through the movements of my pencil, because it is natural. Most importantly, it is best to draw what is easy to delineate, then people can understand it. If you draw organically, your work will always look good. I prefer to draw from real life, because I can see all the details.
