The pencil drawing here starts out like all of my drawings as a quick sketch. When the sketch is done that I commend the detailing followed by shade and shadows with contour lines. Because my task in the drawing was to capture the image and delineate the key forms of the young man.

I have no interest in doing a “realistic” drawing, whatever that means. Rather, I am expressing my being thought the movements of my pencil which I call drawing. Most importantly, this is relaxing to me, as I move the pencil on the paper and see how the form take place.
