Robby The Robot

Robot

Robby the Robot was the creation, and co-star of the Science Fiction classic, The Forbidden Planet, created in 1956. This masterpiece of modern engineering design was done by MGM Studios. This is the first robot in history to have a personality, which made it a star of the film. He was a proper Englishman in every way, even to the new stranger to Alter IV. The planet Altair IV was home to Dr. Morbius, and his daughter, because their landing parting was killed by the Monsters of the ID. Because of the outstanding special effects, the film became famous. Robby is best remembered for alerting Dr. Morbius as the Monsters of the ID approached the house. When the monster breached the house, Dr. Morbius and his companions went to the Krell Lab. Robby could not get to the lab in time, because he was too slow.

Pen & Ink Drawing OF Robby The Robot #418Z

Above is a pen & ink drawing that I did, using a fine point stylus. I took the image from a photograph on the Internet, searching for Robby the Robot. Because the Internet is so vast and deep, I quick received the images. When I was a child the Forbidden Planet was my favorite movie, and still is. For this is the motion picture that gave to the world the fabulous Krell Laboratory, with access only through the impenetrable Krell Door. Robby was the right hand man of Dr. Morbius, day and night. Robby could make diamonds, and emeralds easily. The one thing that Robby could not do was kill people, because Dr. Morbius put that command in his software.
