Celebrity

This celebrity rendering of Clint Eastwood is done with pen & ink on Strathmore paper. I have done a pencil sketch of Clint as a preliminary drawing because it becomes my guide for the pen & ink that follows. If you look carefully you can see the pencil lines below the ink. I made a point to keep this celebrity drawing very clean and simple, like a Mozart symphony it is transparent.

Clint Eastwood 364A

The celebrity drawing is done with a fine tip pen so as to get the points of his face. Clint is at some kind of social event because he is wearing a jacket and tie. There are a lot of people in the room with him which gives energy to the scene.

Drawing Characteristics

Characteristics of this celebrity drawing are the contour lines that catch the shadows on the right side of his face. This was a difficult image to draw because in the photo of him, his face if very dark on the right side. This is fine with a photo image but not a pen & ink rendering. To so darken the right side of the face would disfigure his image and destroy the drawing.
