Description
Board of Trade 214A Building Chicago, bamboo & ink landmark drawing by artist Stephen Condren, BFA, SAIC.
Landmark
This landmark rendering is done in bamboo and ink. Bamboo stylus give a thick line. The bamboo drawings make contour lines. Delineation of the Chicago Board of Trade Building is good because of the contour lines. The landmark drawing is in between tall skyscrapers on La Salle Street in downtown Chicago. Each side of the bamboo drawing shows the skyscrapers tall and firm. The skyscrapers on each side of this landmark drawing make the view look like a cavern, because the side buildings are so tall.
Board of Trade 214A
The landmark drawing offers thick contour lines. Contour lines make the outline of the landmark building. This rendering of the Chicago Board of Trade Building makes the landmark look imposing. The Chicago Board of Trade Building stands at the south end of La Salle Street. This landmark building is one block west of the Union League Club of Chicago. The design of the building is in the arm-chair pattern, because there are two ventilation extensions on each side of this landmark drawing. This is similar to the Civic Opera Building on Wacker Drive, built by Samuel Insul.
