Landmark
This landmark drawing needs no introduction as it is of the Pyramids of Giza. In the middle of the landmark drawing is the Pyramid of Khafre. This pyramid looks like the tallest and largest of the Pyramids in many photos, but it is not. However, at the top of the pyramids is the remnant lime stone material that covered the entire structure. All of the pyramids were covered with a smooth sheet of stone all the way to the very top. It was in later centuries that the cover layers were removed and used as local building material, much like the Colosseum in Rome.
Pyramids 372A
The landmark status of the Pyramids in unique in all of history as they are amongst the oldest buildings in the world. Not only are they very old, they are very well made because of the engineering used.
Drawing Characteristics
Characteristics of this landmark drawing is the simple line work. I did not want to draw a detailed shadow intense rendering. The photo that I found shows a clean clear view of the structures that was suitable for me.
