Cityscape
This Miami cityscape watercolor of Miami, Florida, is done at sunset with a view from Biscayne Bay. Because of the intensity of the yellow and red lights brightly shining from the west. This makes for a silhouette of the building formation on the skyline thus enhancing the play of light on the waters of Biscayne Bay.
The tones in this cityscape are a mixture of crimson and yellow, because these make warm sunset colors. Watercolors require a very loose and fresh look to them, rather than the strict brushwork of oil paintings. Using the pen & ink with the watercolor compliments the form, because it united form with tone.
