Chicago skyline 217A
The cityscape drawing is done with fine pen & ink on paper. There are many hatched lines in this cityscape drawing because they make shade and shadows. The most important elements are the fine lines to make the buildings because you have to be able to identify each one. Architectural illustrations require very fine lines, because they show structural details. This cityscape show the most famous building in the Loop. Willis Tower is done with contour lines and no hatching because it would be too dark.
