Description
Board of Trade 218A Building Chicago, pen & ink landmark drawing by artist Stephen Condren, BFA, SAIC.
Landmark
This landmark rendering is of the Chicago Board of Trade Building. The landmark building was constructed in 1930 in downtown Chicago. Hatched lines where used to drawing this landmark building. The lines in the drawing are all done free-hand, because this brings out the figures. The sky in the landmark drawing is made from a series of horizontal hatched lines.
Board of Trade 218A
The landmark building is done in Art Deco style because it was popular. Stone and glass are the materials used in construction of the landmark building because of the harsh weather. The Chicago Board of Trade is no longer used for futures trading because this is too old. There are many carvings on this landmark building because it was fashionable. The lines of the windows are close together because they give detail to the brackets.
