Description
Chicago skyline 280A pen & ink drawing is cityscape art of downtown skyscrapers on Lake Michigan by Stephen Condren.
Cityscape Art
This cityscape rendering is a pen & ink drawing of downtown Chicago from Monroe Harbor. The cityscape rendering is done as a silhouette because it is an outline. A fine tip pen was used the create this cityscape drawing so that the details would show. Monroe Harbor is the eastern border of downtown Chicago because the Loop is right at the shoreline. This city scene offers a two dimensional view of the city because there is no perspective. The delineation of the cityscape was done so as to show the outline of the most important buildings because they are famous.
Chicago Skyline 280A
The cityscape drawing makes no use of hatched lines because there is no shade or shadows. Delineation is very clear so that the large buildings can be identified. The color of the ink is black and is used for the clouds and water. Lake Michigan is at the bottom of the rendering because it offers visual support to the skyscrapers above. The clouds are done with very few lines because they are just dust and the air is thin.
