Cityscape
The drawing is really more of a city scene than a skyline as it is taking us to the street level of the horizon line. We have a full view of the downtown cityscape at the vantage point. The church is well detailed with palm trees on the left and the street takes us right past the One South Church building. The line work is fine and nicely brings out all of the detail in the perspective rendering. There is a nice gentle touch to the penmanship of the drawing as the lines flow in a loose manner. There is nothing architectonic about this drawing at all.
The rendering is truly more of a drawing than an architectural illustration. Loose lines, and cross hatching shade and shadows bring out the texture of the buildings. Because the street scene has little action, it portrays a quiet village sentiment. However, this is no village, but rather a major city with style.
