The image above is the earlier phase of the drawing. As you can see the head is the most detailed part of the drawing. At the lower left hand side is the image of Nosferatu’s right hand, resting on the head of his current victim. Most importantly, The image depends are contrast lighting to get the affect of suspense, where is clearly achieved here in this film. Because the background is dark, the figures are dark. The darker the imagery the more haunting the mood, which is the intention of the producer.
- Pencil
The strongest element in this drawing is the use of lead pencil. The lead offers many ways to put contrast in an image.

Stylus Sketch
This fine line pencil drawing is an image of one of the greatest horror films ever created. Because this file was made in 1922, it is a silent film. All the more reason that the producers make extreme use of lighting to bring out effects that could not be attained without sound. This drawing is taken from the bedroom scene near the end of the film where he is hunched over his last victim.
The Drawing
In this splendid and gracious drawing is one that I have wanted to undertake for years. The film is universally famous and admired by all that are followers of Dracula.
