Figure
This drawing is of a young male gymnast working the parallel bars because he is muscular. The drawing shows him in profile because he is doing a swirl as he gathers strength to jump off at the close. Just to look at the perfection of his moves because it is a joy to behold. I always enjoy watching the videos of these parallel bar gymnasts because they can do so much in so little time.
Gay Male Gymnast
The rendering of the young man is done on white Strathmore paper because it is good with black pen & ink. I have used a fine tip pen nib because I want the finest lines. You need to have fine lines for this kind of drawing because you need to capture the movement. The young man’s face cannot be seen except for the profile of his nose because he is moving. The beauty and grace that he offers to all of us is a true blessing because he moves quickly.
Drawing Characteristics
