Philosopher
This historic figure rendering of Nietzsche is from a photo that I found online. There seem to be a lot of variations on a few images of him. I liked this one because his eyes were large and clear, and he is in a 3/4 view. The background of the photo is black so I could not fill in the details behind him. Nietzsche is famous for his Philosophy and writings on Aesthetics and Culture. He is the man that coined the phrase “God is dead”, meaning that our tradition views and concepts of God are no longer viable.
Frederich Nietzsche 380A
The historic figure drawing of Nietzsche is done with pen & ink. There was not a lot of hatching used to make the drawing because I wanted the image to be light. He is wearing a jacket and black tie, and the mood on his face is quite Spartan. Nietzsche’s mustache is large and full for a Philosopher, and one of the biggest that I have ever seen on a men.
Drawing Characteristics
Characteristics of this Philosopher drawing are the contour lines. Since the photo was not the most clear, I was not able to get all of the detail that would use a lot of hatched lines. The most lines used anywhere in the drawing are in his hair.
Photographs & Image
The drawing was done from an Internet search for Fredrich Nietzsche.
