Watercolor painting of Nichols Bridgeway at Millennium Park in Chicago by skyline artist Stephen F. Condren. The new Modern Wing at the Art Institute of Chicago is attached to Nichols Bridgeway.
This Bridgeway is unique in that it directly connects the Art Institute of Chicago with Millennium Park with is just across the street to the north, over passing Adams Street and making clear passage for pedestrians to go to and from the museum and park.
The delineation of the watercolor with the use of pen & ink give accuracy to the watercolor rendering of the pedestrian overpass. The view of the Chicago skyline is exceptional from this vantage point because it is one of the few places that you have an elevated view of the city looking to the west. Most importantly, the line of sight for Michigan Avenue aligns perfectly with Millennium Park.
