The most famous building in this area is the John Hancock Center. At 100 floors the John Hancock Center has both offices and condominiums making this a micro-city.

The Loop

Chicaogo’s world famous “Loop” is the central business district and has the largest “collection” of skyscrapers in the city. The Loop gets it name from the Chicago River “looping” around the downtown business district.

John Hancock Center

One of the most famous building in Chicago and the country is the John Hancock Center. This 100 story building is both an office building and condominium residence. You can literally work on one for and take the elevator home on another floor!

Hyde Park

Approximately five miles south of the Loop is Hyde Park Township which is home of the University of Chicago and the Museum of Science and Industry.

Northerly Island

Just south of the Loop past Roosevelt Road is Northerly Island, this was once an airport.
