This fine pen & ink drawing of Timothee Chalamet a free-hand rendering.
There are many photos of him on the Internet to choose from but this one stuck me. His hair reminds me very much of King Ludwig II of Bavaria, Germany. Ludwig has the exact same hair with the curls, it is amazing. Like King Ludwig, Timothee is very handsome.

The drawing lends itself nicely to a black and white drawing. Just like the photo of King Ludwig II, I can quickly and easily render the drawing with accuracy. The drawing took me about 10 minutes to draw, and I also did a quick pencil sketch before hand. Most of the time when I do a pen & ink drawing I do a light pencil sketch first to be a guideline. It is very important to note, that the pencil sketch has to be light, because if it is dark it will compete with the pen & ink that follows.

This drawing is a simple contour line drawing that uses a minimum of hatched lines. Hatched lines are needed for expressing shade and shadows. It takes great skill to draw with contour lines because you have to have a firm understanding of the image that is your model.
