It has been a Chicago landmark for decades and is the entry to Chicago’s Magnificent Mile because it is at the beginning of the Magnificent Mile. The night lights on the gleaming white building were the hallmark of north Michigan Avenue because they were bright. Most importantly this building is the entry to north Michigan Avenue. Across the river were large flood lights that cast large volumes of bright light on the building. The building glowed in the dark because of the lights making a wonderful image for the cityscape. As time passed the flood lights were replaced with a lower wattage series of bulbs, therefore dimming the brightness.
