Pen & Ink Rendering for the Shirtless Gay Cowboy
Shirtless cowboy is a pen & ink landmark drawing, by artist Stephen Condren, BFA, SAIC, of Condren Galleries. This rendering of a shirtless cowboy is a bold work of art because I have used hatched lines. The image of the cowboy is strong because it is full of meaning it attracts attention. There is a lot of hatching and cross-hatching used because they bring out the form of the figure. The detailing of the figure is very fine because it is full of emotions of the shirtless gay cowboy.
Hatched Lines
There is a lot of fine line work on the drawing because that makes the image a success. The details bring out the contour form of the cowboy, because people turn to western art for cowboy images. The drawing of the cowboy is clear and clean. It takes a lot of time to draw an image like this, because it is a male figure, like the shirtless gay cowboy. The overall beauty of this rendering is the delineation because it reveals the entire image of the shirtless gay cowboy. The face of the cowboy is hidden because he wants his eyes to be hidden from the viewer.
Shirtless Figures
Shirtless male figures look good because their genitals are not exposed. The great advantage of drawing shirtless males over females is because of the lack of nudity. You can always present a drawing of a shirtless male because it is not considered a nude image. When you draw a shirtless rendering of a female it is considered a nude work of art because you see the female breasts.
Nude Females
The difficulty in drawing nude females because it can be interpreted as pornography or other negative assessments. You cannot draw a partial nude female because all their parts are exposed. A shirtless male reveals all the fine beauty of a man without any pornographic features because me can be bare chested. It is acceptable for a man not to wear a shirt outside, but not true of a woman. Thus, it is best to stick with drawing shirtless males because they offer the most positive responses to your artwork like the shirtless gay cowboy.

Shirtless Gay Cowboy
Because this is a pen & ink of a young shirtless cowboy is focused on both the shade and shadows as well as his figure. Most importantly, I wanted to use the form of this very toned young man to be a vehicle of shading, because I am very pleased with the results. I deliberately did not show the details of his face because I would rather let your mind ponder it. Shirtless male drawings are popular, because they look good like the shirtless gay cowboy.
Delineation
Because the drawing is done with a fine point pen & India black ink, it is strong. I used a very fine point because the hatching would be sheer enough. If lines are made with pen & ink, they are strong because they are clean and clear. Most importantly, unlike pencil, shades and shadows, are made with hatching because they are light, whereas the ink lines are strong.
The hatching of shade and shades in this drawing are strong because they are close together. You can see the dark tones under the cowboy’s left pec because the rays of light shine from the left. The same holds true for the raised arm on his right side, because the rays of light shine from the left like the shirtless gay cowboy.
To compliment the hatched lines, I have used contour lines because they outline the shape of the figure. They make it so easy to connect the form together because they complement each other. The more hatching that you do the darker the drawing gets because they take up more paper on the drawing. If you space out your hatch lines, you will make the drawing breath because it shows more surface of the paper for the shirtless gay cowboy.
