Landmark
This landmark drawing is of an ancient Roman Temple at Maison Carree. The building is almost 2,000 years old and is in excellent condition. There has been a lot of restoration to the structure but the essential elements are in place and the building is in sturdy condition. There is a portico on the front for receiving visitors to the service, and a nice size room for performing services and prayers. The portico ends at the entry to the temple and the pills stop at this point. However, the side of the temple continues the pattern of the pillars to a to keep the continuity of the structure in one solid piece.
Maison Carree 373A
The landmark drawing show the pillars of the portico in the front of the temple. At the top of the columns are Ionic capitals and at the base of the pillars are Doric pedestals.
Drawing Characteristics
Characteristics of this landmark drawing is the fine lines that make the fluted columns on the front of the temple. Along the sides at the roof line are moldings with a dental patter that give shade and shadows to the building.
