This figure drawing is of a young male gymnast working the parallel bars. The drawing shows him in profile doing a swirl as he gathers strength to jump off at the close. Just to look at the perfection of his moves is a joy to behold. I always enjoy watching the videos of these parallel bar gymnast.

Gymnast 425A

The rendering of the young man is done on white Strathmore paper with black pen & ink. I have used a fine tip pen nib to get the finest lines. You need to have fine lines for this kind of drawing so as to capture the movement. The young man’s face cannot be seen except for the profile of his nose. The beauty and grace that he offers to all of us is a true blessing.
