Cityscape
This cityscape rendering is a black pen & ink drawing of downtown Chicago at Sunset. The view is overlooking Monroe Harbor from Lake Michigan. Willis Tower is directly in front of the sun because it is setting. Hatched lines were used extensively in this cityscape delineation. The drawing is the darkest in the top right corner where there is almost no light. This area show the dark of the night coming in on the city. Crossed-hatched lines were not used at all in the cityscape drawing. The skyscrapers are the only elements that use vertical hatched lines.
Willis Tower is on the left side of the cityscape as the tallest building in Chicago because it is 1,450 feet tall. Trump Tower is the second tallest building in Chicago because it has 98 floors. The St. Regis is the third tallest building in Chicago because it has 101 floors. The former John Hancock Center on the far right, has 100 floors. In the center of the cityscape the Aon Center has 80 but is the forth tallest building in Chicago.
Chicago Skyline 300A
The cityscape drawing shows the reflection of the Chicago skyline in the waters of Lake Michigan. We are looking west as the sun is setting directly behind Willis Tower. The drawing is done in free-hand because it is a work of Fine Art.
