Cityscape

This cityscape rendering is a multi-colored pen & ink drawing of the Chicago skyline at sunset. Many ink colors were used to make the drawing, because this is a color drawing. The skyscrapers are done with vertical hatched lines. Hatched lines were used only for the skyscrapers and sky in this cityscape rendering. The lines that make up the water are wavy lines because they compliment the sky. Hatched lines in the sky were used to form the clouds.

Willis Tower is the tallest building in the drawing because it has 108 floors. Trump Tower in the center of the cityscape is the second tallest building in the cityscape because it has 98 floors. The St. Regis on the far right is the third tallest building in the drawing because it has 101 floors. Next to Trump Tower is the Aon Center which has 80 floors. The Aon Center is taller than the 100 story John Hancock Center because the space between each floor is 10 feet.

Chicago Skyline 292A

The cityscape drawing is overlooking Lake Michigan from Monroe Harbor. This cityscape rendering has the sun setting on the left side of the drawing. Willis Tower is in front of the sun because it shines all around it. The right side of the cityscape drawing show the darkness of the night coming in. There is a gradual darkening of the drawing as you move to the right. As the drawing gets darker I add more colors to the cityscape. The more colors that I put on the dark sky the richer the drawing becomes.
