Description
Chicago skyline 166A pen & ink cityscape drawing is popular because of it’s shadows, and the print is matted 11″x14″ with free shipping.
Chicago skyline 166 by artist Stephen Condren, BFA, SAIC, of Condren Galleries.
Cityscape
This cityscape rendering is a study in high contrast lighting, because there is no graduated line work. In the upper right corner of this cityscape is the sun setting. The rays of the sun leave stark contrast from the shade that it leaves behind. The lower left corner of the cityscape is the darkest section of the rendering, because there is little sunlight there. I did not however, want to make the cityscape too dark by filling it with hatch lines.
Streeterville
The near north side of Chicago is called Streeterville and this cityscape rendering is taking you to the heart of it. In the center of the cityscape is the former John Hancock Center at 100 stories. Just west of this famous structure stands the Four Seasons Hotel, not much shorter in height. Without doubt it is the former John Hancock Center that commands the stage in this cityscape, because if it’s size and shading.
