Description
Chicago “L” train 255A pen & ink city scene drawing of “L” train with downtown skyline behind it by Stephen Condren, BFA, SAIC.
City Scene
This city scene rendering shows “L” train going west on Lake Street towards Maywood. The skyline of downtown Chicago can be seen from behind because the view is looking eastward. This city scene drawing shows how close the “L” trains run next to buildings. On the right side of this city scene drawing are the electric cables that power the train engines. Next to the cables is a warehouse with windows along side, because this is in alignment with the train tracks. The train is a newer aluminum because it has the new lights. All passengers enter from the side of the train because the platforms are handicap accessible. Each train car has provision for handicap passengers because it is the law.
Chicago “L” Train 255A
The city scene drawing is done with pen & ink on Strathmore fine white paper. Hatched lines were used to make this city scene drawing to make shade and shadows. The hatched lines are excellent making the formation of building structure because they are close to each other. Contour lines are used in this city scene drawing to delineate the skyline because they denote architectural structures.
