Bar scene 259, drawing is perhaps one of my greatest bar scene works of art. This is one of my most cherished bar scene drawings that I have ever done. Buck’s was on Halsted Street in Chicago, Illinois.
I very well remember the evening that I drew this piece. As usually, I had my pencils and pad with me and I went to the back of the bar where there was a pool table. The bar ends and then turns into the wall. This is where the pitcher of beer sits in the drawing. I was sitting on one of the stools with the pad in my hand and commencing the work. The men at the bar were watching a sport program on the TV over head behind me. It was at the moment of difficulty for the team the seated men showed disfavor and at that point I quickly seized the moment!
Later at home I darkened the areas just behind the men’s head. In looking back I wish I had left it the way it was, however, no matter what this is a masterpiece!
