Delineation
The house is situated on a large parcel of land lending itself to a lovely and gracious landscape. The red shutters are reflected in the red leaves of the shrubs and trees. The delineation of the home is a soft loose line that compliments the landscape. I do not what the watercolor to look too “architectural” but rather more artistic. This is a closing gift and not an architectural rendering to shown to a banking or civic committee meeting. The more natural and soft the better the artistic merits come through. Hatching & Cross-hatching
The shading is done with watercolor and no use of any kind of hatching has been employed in this rendering. Most of the time the use of hatching is the best vehicle for describing shade and shadowing in a rendering. However, the wonderful play of color that compliments the landscaping has eliminated the need for any kink of hatching for Watercolor house portrait 7/20/2018A.
