David Tracy

Theologian

Father David Tracy is a Roman Catholic priest and retired professor of the University of Chicago. Dr. Tracy is the author of many excellent books, because he researches Theology. I have read three of his books:

1.The Blessed Rage for Order.

2. The Analogical Imagination.

3. Plurality and Ambiguity.

All of these books are excellent, and difficult to read, because he makes many statements are ambiguous or hard to question. I like clarity in all things, like my architectural renderings. I find his books very probing, and introspective, which is why I like his books. David Tracy is good at getting to the point, because he understands grammar, and Theology. Most importantly, he is kind, and understanding of people from all walks of life. He is a Catholic Priest so the he can serve God, and the Church.

David Tracy is a very advanced and highly trained Theologian and thinker, because he studies scholars. Because I have read his books, and greatly admire and respect them, I understand them, for they fall short of really answering questions. I was particularly disappointed in his book Plurality and Ambiguity, for in the book he talks about hope but never address the issue. The first part of his book he made an excellent critique of the French Revolution, but it let me down. I was very engaged in he book, but he never finished his point. Most importantly, he just left the topic unanswered, like an Alfred Hitchcock suspense film. Most importantly at the end of the book he touches on hope, but offers no solutions.
