Description
Chicago skyline 282A pen & ink drawing is cityscape art of downtown skyscrapers on Lake Michigan by Stephen Condren.
Cityscape Art
This cityscape rendering is a pen & ink of downtown Chicago overlooking Monroe Harbor. The cityscape is looking west showing Willis Tower on the left and the St. Regis on the right. Willis Tower is the tallest building in Chicago because it has 108 floors. The St. Regis is the third tallest building with 101 floor and Trump Tower is the second tallest with 98 Floors. St. Regis has more floors than Trump Tower because it is a residence not a commercial property. Commercial properties have 10 feet between floors, whereas residential structures have only 8 feet between floors.
Chicago Skyline 282A
The cityscape drawing makes has made extensive use of hatched line because they form the body of each skyscraper. This cityscape is more of a silhouette because the entire skyline is aligned with verical lines. The drawing was done in free-hand so as not to use rulers.
