Tom Brady is truly a great celebrity, because he is a great quarterback and he is Irish! This drawing is a nice clean sketch, because it is not filled with unnecessary lines. I have made a point to bring out the essential image of Tom rather than resort to copying photographs with is dull. Photos are like windows because they give a few of the person or place. I take the opportunity that this “window” have given me and I have abstracted the essential celebrity image of Tom Brady. As an athlete Tom Brady is at the top, because he focuses on working until the job is done. Tom Brady is unrelenting in his drive for athletic perfection, because he knows what he wants.

This celebrity drawing was done because I was impressed with Tom Brady as a great athlete and also a man of good character. A man of dashing good looks can only be attributed to his being Irish! All humor aside, Tom has a nicely proportioned face that is complimented by a fine hairline. The lighting is was attracted me to this image of Tom, because I like celebrity portraits to have a twist. The skeletal structure of Tom’s face is very nice, and this makes the shade and shadowing work well with the contour lines. The contour lines bring out the form of the celebrity portrait. Contour lines vs. hatch lines is always a struggle, because you need them both. You need the contour lines to define the form, and you need hatch lines to give dimension to the rendering. Tom Brady is the finest quarterback of our time.
