Cityscape
Skyscrapers. This pencil cityscape drawing of downtown Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Â has focused on the central core of the business district with a view of FDR Park below. My purpose in this drawing was to contrast the images of the towering skyscrapers, which loom over this gracious haven of peace in the middle of one of the largest cities in the United States. I make use of deep rough contour lines rather than fine pencil strokes because it brings out the warmth of the scene. I wanted a loose and warm feeling to the drawing to make the image pleasing.
Philadelphia Skyline #798A
The landscaping of FDR Park is the key to the beauty of this cityscape drawing, because it supports the rendering of the skyscrapers.
