The rendering of the this figure shows Michael Phelps swimming in the water from under the pool. Thus you can see how he looks in a much better view than those from above the water. The nice thing about this kind of view is that all of the waves and splashing are gone. You can see everything without any obstruction. Since he is wearing long pants he is just doing regular training because these would slow him down in any competitive race.
Drawing Characteristics

Characteristics of this figure drawing are the color inks. When I use color inks I try and make them integrate into the fabric of the drawing like a Persian Rug. I have used both blue and green inks to make this figure drawing. The most striking thing about this drawing are his arms. Because he is so close to the lens of the camera it has greatly distorted the image of his body. His arms look gigantic whereas his legs look small. This makes it look that I drew it incorrectly, however, I examined all the details carefully, and this is the correct set of proports of his body from that lens.
