This figure drawing rendering is of the straight German model Janis Danner standing shitless. He is leaning slightly to the left and looking right at you. The drawing is down with an HB and 6B lead pencils because they offer darker lines. These leads are the best to work with because they offer a solid dark line, yet are not too soft to make a fine detail.

Drawing Characteristics

Characteristics of this figure drawing are the fine shadow lines made with the 6B and HB lead pencils. I have working with a fine photo and I do not want to replicate it. My task is to abstract imagery from the photo so as to make it a work of art. I do not like to copy photos because that is pointless and drudgery.  Why copy a photo when you have one in your hand. Rather, the question to ask is how can I pull out the image that I can see of the subject that this photo is offering?
