This figure drawing is of a gymnast on a horse bench is making a rapid turn.
Gymnast 419A
The rendering of the young man at the parallel bars is a simple line drawing. I used a fine point pen nib to make the drawing. It is always difficult to drawing moving figures because you have to catch the movement when there is none. I did not want to use extended line strokes outside of the figure because that would make it look like a cartoon, or catalogue illustration.

Characteristics of this figure drawing are the lines. Since the gymnast has his left hand blocked by his legs it looks like I forgot to draw it. However, I did a study of this and it showed that it was best to leave it the way it is because it putting his left hand in would distort the drawing.
