In this version of the pen & ink drawing of the Chicago, Illinois, Skyline I have again chosen red ink. My concern for this drawing was to intensify the focus of the drawing to the center. I have put more detail to the center because the buildings are tallest there. You will notice that the buildings to the right side of the drawing are more in cube for with less detail so as to let the fine lines of the center work at their best.
John Hancock Center
The scene ends with the Park Hyatt to the far left to give closure to the subject. The detailing of Water Tower Place is just as I wanted to so as to accent the window patterns without getting lost in all the details of the window units themselves. I have left the John Hancock Center as a solid cube and only giving detail to the antennas at the very top. Also, I have made sure that the antennas thrust straight up rather than tip to the right side (which is more correct in terms of perspective) unlike my previous versions of this site.
Landscape
The landscape of the trees makes for a solid base for the image to rest on and I have made a break in the trees to show the access to the road.
