Cityscape
Chicago skyline pen & ink of near north side and John Hancock Center by skyline artist Stephen F. Condren, BFA-SAIC. This pen & ink cityscape drawing of the Chicago, Illinois, skyline takes in a view of Streeterville with the John Hancock Center taking the lead role in the scene with it’s great height and stature dwarfing all the other building safe for the Four Seasons Hotel, Willis Tower, and the Aon Center in the background. I chose to do the ink lines in a loose relaxed manner rather than the tight and tedious detailing that is so common in cityscape drawings.
Chicago skyline #774A
This cityscape drawing shows the largest cluster of skyscrapers outside of the Loop, because of they are tall. The use of hatching and cross-hatching to make the shade and shadows ads integrity to the rendering because it offers delineation. Streeterville is the name of this area because it is named after a famous alderman. This section of Chicago has the highest per-capita income in the city.
