Cityscape
The cityscape here is the most popular view of Chicago, as it is the “front door” of this fair city. Since Chicago is on a body of water, the shoreline is a natural port of entry and a wonderful cityscape. Chicago has been called the most beautiful city in the country because of it’s fabulous waterfront. The cityscapes of Chicago is made beautiful by all of the parks along the lake. In fact, all off the lakefront of Chicago is city parks except for small exeptions. No other city in the country can boast to have such a beautiful waterfront.
Burnham Harbor
In this cityscape rendering we are looking over Burnham Harbor, named after Daniel Burnham the Plan of Chicago architect. Burnham Harbor is right in the center of the downtown shoreline, as designed by Daniel Burnham. On the north side of the harbor is Navy Pier, the most visited site in Chicago. Danial Burnham had envisioned 12 such piers but one the one was completed. Chicago is a beautiful city because of its parks and lakefront.
