Cityscape
This cityscape rendering is done from Lincoln Park looking south at sunset, because the sun sets in the west. Burnham Harbor is just behind this point, and named after the famous Chicago architect Daniel Burnham, because he designed the Plan of Chicago. Paris, France was the model city that Daniel Burnham chose for the Plan of Chicago. He had designed 12 large piers for the waterfront of Chicago, but only Navy Pier was constructed. Navy Pier is the largest tourist attraction in the State of Illinois. In this cityscape Navy Pier is just out of sight, because it is north of the harbor.
Sunset
The beauty of this cityscape watercolor lies in the color, because it is warm. Crimson with yellow make the tone of this cityscape rendering, because they bring out warmth. Pen & inks are used to make the details of the skyscrapers in this cityscape. The delineation of the skyscrapers compliments the color of the sky in this cityscape rendering. The largest percentage of the cityscape is in the sky, because it contains the light from the sun. The tone of the color is muted.
