Description
Bar scene #125A pencil tavern drawing, which is for sale here, at discount with prints by artist and United States Navy Veteran, Stephen F. Condren, BFA, SAIC, of Condren Galleries, a Fine Arts Gallery, offering JPEG & PDF scans. This is a live action drawing, done right on the spot while people are drinking and talking.
The scene is done in pencil because this works the best for doing quick live bar scene drawing. I have used pen & ink in the past but you have to have things set up nicely at a table or on the bar. Having just a pencil and pad of paper makes it much easier to draw without worry. However, you always have to have tissue and spare pencils with a sharpener ready at hand. However, I like to draw live figures moving because it brings out the action in the work of art. Because of my ability to draw with pencil very quickly I can capture the very moment of a bar scene.
Live On The Spot Bar Scene Drawings
This is a drawing of Santi, one of the bartenders at the club. There is usually a lot of activity around the back bar as it is the centerpiece of the back patio. Santi was moving a lot and so I could not get a good still drawing done of him. However, he did stay in the same location making the drinks so that I could get a good grasp of his form for Bar Scene #125A.
Lightning Fast Drawings Art
Santi’s quick movements were an excellent chance for me to better grasp an image in motion. Anyone can draw someone that is still, but to capture them in motion is another matter.
