Naked cowboy #437A charcoal pencil figure drawing with him wearing a 10-gallon hat leaning on a post looking down, print is matted 11″ x 14″
Naked cowboy #437A charcoal pencil figure drawing, by artist Stephen Condren, BFA, SAIC, of Condren Galleries. Because naked cowboys are great, their prints are great! This image is serene and keeps the viewer occupied with the entire drawing, rather than a fixed spot. The large 10-gallon has draws as much interest has does his hands or profiled face.
The key to success with this drawing is that everything is simple. There is really very little detail to the drawing, as the contour lines are muted by the shade and shadows.
The Naked Cowboy
I have made a special effort here to capture the feeling of the image without sacrifice form. Thus, in this silhouette drawing you have both the contour of the image and the formal structure of the young man’s body. I have taken great care to use just enough negative space to have the shape and form of the drawing. Any further tampering with the contour lines of the drawing would distort the image.
