Pen & ink drawings and watercolors are one of my favorite ways to express the beauty of the human male body because they bring out the essence of the masculine figure. The torsos of these muscular figures have thick and wide Linea albas that run down from their pectoralis majors to their pelvis. The rectus abdominis is flanked on both sides by the Linea semilunaris. The shoulders of these muscular figures have fully developed deltoids and trapezius.

Contour and Hatched Lines

I have made extensive use of contour and hatched lines to make these masculine figures because they convey the imagery with accuracy. Contour lines are best used for making the outline of the figures because they are bold strong lines. Hatched lines are good for making the shade and shadows of the masculine figures because they bring out the depth of the figures. Hatch lines are short strokes that are parallel to each other and run in a long series. Cross-hatched lines are those hatched lines that crisscross each other.
