Luisa Miller By Verdi
This evening I has the pleasure to attend a performance of Luisa Miller by Verdi, because I am a Lyric Opera of Chicago subscriber. As always, Lyric Opera delivers the highest quality opera in spades, because they are a world class opera company. The sets for tonight’s product were wonderful. The backdrop was a large canvas of a mountain landscape with lots of greenery, because it was near the Alps. In the stage setting was a very large canvas that was moved around as the scene changed. The painting looked like a Barbizon School landscape by either Corot, or Daubigny.
Christian Van Horn
Bass-Baritone Christina Van Horn, an alumni of the Ryan Center for the Performing Arts, at Lyric Opera of Chicago did an outstanding job as the Count Walter. All the members of the cast were wonderful, because they spent a lot of time practicing their outstanding gifts. Offering to everyone here in Chicago the very best in Verdi, and opera, because they know how to deliver.
Thank you Lyric Opera of Chicago!
Intermission
There was one intermission that lasted for 30 minutes, because then the bell chimed for the curtain to rise. All in all it was an outstanding performance. Thank you lyric Opera, because you offer the best opera. The Civic Opera house was crowed, because it is the home of Lyric Opera, and everyone runs to a winner.
