- Color: The color that I used for the overall tone is that of green, an almost terquoise green. This color permeates the entire fabric of the watercolor. Having this tone thoughout the work give continuity to the composition.
- Burnham Harbor: This is the most popular view of Chicago. Burnham Harbor is the front door of Chicago leading us from the waterfront to the Buckingham Fountain up to the foot of the Chicago Loop.
- Contour Lines: The lines of the watercolor are made of black pen & ink and carefully delineate the detail of each of the buildings without going into too much detail and then losing the caliber of the composition with dark spots and over hatched ink lines.
