Cheney Mansion
Oak Park Treasure
This grand old mansion sits on an entire city block, on Euclid Avenue, in Oak Park, Illinois, because it is a modern house! To people of today this looks like an old house, because it was build in 1913. However, in 1913 this was a very cutting edge design for a house, because the style was modern. The architectural design of the house was a clean simple block design, because it was a contemporary look. The top of the home was embellished with a Tudor accent, because that was common practice in the early 20th Century.
Pencil Drawing
Above is my pen & ink drawing of the house, because it was sketched in pencil first. The pencil sketch can be seen underneath the ink, because the ink does not cover all the paper. I wanted the line work to be fresh, and clean, because that make the house look good.
