Chicago Union Station Drawing
An Architectural Rendering
This wonderful drawing is of the beautiful rotunda in the Chicago Union Station, because of it’s Classical architectural design. This grand space is completely done in marble, because it is expressing the Greco-Roman theme. When this grand edifice was built, the railroads were king, because they were the best means of transportation at that time. It is like O’Hare International Airport of today, because it was the hub of most of the railroad activity.
Pencil Drawing
I did this drawing while waiting for my Metra train coming home from Lyric Opera of Chicago, because the Metra is the transportation that I use to go to Chicago. I carry my drawing bag with me, because I like to do drawings when an opportunity arises.
