This young cowboy is sitting back on a bench with his shirt open, because he wants you to see his male beauty. He has a look of boredom on his face, because his mind is on something else.
I have used contour lines to draw the shirtless cowboy because they show the outline of the figure. To capture the shade and shadows of the hot cowboy, I have used fine hatched and cross-hatched lines. He has short hair and is clean shaven because he likes to keep himself well-groomed.
Torso
The hot cowboy is wearing a vest that is opened and exposing his very chiseled torso because he wants you to see his virile sexy body. He is sitting in a very slouched position in the chair because he is being casual.

This rendering is a study of both contour, and hatched lines, because they work together. The best drawings use both, because the rendering will be more dynamic. Drawings that are done with just contour lines tend to be two dimensional, because they lack shade, and shadows to give depth, and perspective.
