This is a pen & ink of a young gay man that is looking for love, because he is lonely. He has a new fashionable hairdo that brings out his male beauty, because it is full, and rich with swirls.

Pencil Rendering

The pencil sketch can be seen below, because I use this as my study for the ink to follow. The lead is an HB lead, so it is about mid-grade I tone, because it will not be too dark against the pen & ink. The tones in the pencil sketch are nice and even making ruse of hatch lines. I have used very few hatching lines with the ink, because it is so demanding.

Eyes are always the most important element of a portrait drawing, because they bring out the character of the person. The boy is looking right at you, because he is lonely.

Pencil Rendering

The rendering shown below is my preliminary study for the drawing of the young man, because it is a guide for the darker lead that follows. I made use of a good amount of hatching, and cross-hatching in the drawing, because this is needed to give dimension to the image. The boy’s eyes are beautiful in every way, because their shape perfectly matches the fine details of his face. The soft tones of the sketch are very nice, and I almost hate to put the darker lead over them, because they are gracious.

Olympic Champion Stylus Body Sketch

This is a shirtless drawing of Gold Metal Olympian Michael Phelps, because he is the greatest swimmer of all time. His gift in the water is so unique that he competed, and won in two Olympic Games, because he never gives up. I admire his expertise, because I swim a mile every day.

Pencil Rendering

Below is the pencil rendering that I did before I applied the pen & ink, because it serves as my guide to the ink work. I use the pencil sketch very loosely, because it opens my creativity. If I had to copy or trace over the pencil work it would be an impediment to my drawing style. I am careful not to put too much pencil work on the paper, because it will compete with the pen & ink. However, the advantage that the pen & ink has over the pencil is the dark black ink.

Olympic Champion Stylus Body Sketch

With honor I have drawn the portrait of the greatest Olympian in World History, Michael Phelps, because he is a swimmer. What is interesting about his body is how thin he is, because you would think that as an Olympic Champion he would be all muscles. However, he is not a muscle boy at all but a trim, slim man, because he is a swimmer. Like Michael Phelps, I am a swimmer, because I swim a mile every day.

Pencil Rendering

In the rendering below is the preliminary sketch of Michael Phelps, because he is trim, and fit. The lines are done with an HB lead, because they are lighter in lead weight. After I do the sketch I go over it with a 6B lead, because it is deep in dark tone, and soft.

A Drawing Of Terror!

Screams in the night, children are missing, owls are howling, and the lights are out, because all is black! Tenants at night hear strange, and frightening noises from the floor above, because it is the pounding of violence, and boxes being filled with body parts! Suddenly all is quiet, and nothing can be heard, because the pounding has stopped, and what you hear is the beating of your heart, racing with fear.

The Blade

Then just when you thought that you were safe, and that all was clear, the hallway door starts to creek, because right behind it is a sharpened blade in the hands of a stalker. Now death becomes you!

Cute Bare-Chested Man Stylus Body Sketch

This fine young man is hidden partially in shadows, because his right side is in mystery. He is looking at you and wondering who you are and what you want, because he is in hiding. He is not being a sneak by lurking behind doors, because you can see him in all his male beauty.

Pencil Rendering

My intention for this study was to incorporate shadow lines with contour lines, because working them together can create a great work of art. I am very pleased with the results. I deliberately did not delineate his right side, because I wanted the shading to do that in your mind. The detailing of his hands, and fingers do the job, because to reveal any more would defeat the purpose of the shadowing.

Below is my preliminary sketch of the drawing, because I use this as my foundation to the final work of art.

Famed fitness model, and body builder, Abel Albonetti is here posed in all of his male beauty, because males are the fair gender. As an athlete I appreciate his attention to the human body, because I swim a mile every day. Most people ignore the fact that their body is their greatest asset, because it is your very life. Rather than eat good food, and work out, people today eat garbage food all day long, and watch TV, because they are lazy, and bored.

From the sketch below you can see the layout of the final drawing, because this is a preliminary work of art. This time I wanted to play the negative space against the positive space, because I wanted to draw intensity out of the high contrasts.
