Cityscape

This Chicago skyline cityscape watercolor painting is overlooking Lake Michigan at sunset. The watercolor is done in pencil with pen & ink because that brings out the architectural details. The tallest building in the cityscape is Willis Tower, because it has 108 floors. Willis Tower was previously known as Sears Tower because it was built by Sears Roebuck & Company. On the far right is the Aon Center and the tallest appearing building in this cityscape. The Aon Center looks taller than both Willis Tower, and Trump Tower because it is closer to the picture plane.

Chicago Skyline #1170A

The view is from a boat just west of Monroe Harbor . Since we are looking west the sunset makes for a natural crown of light glowing in the background. There is crimson red in this cityscape sunset.
